DESTEN Inc. Appoints Juan Villalonga to Board of Advisors
PALO ALTO, Calif., January 11th, 2024 – DESTEN Inc., a leading technology company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Juan Villalonga as a new member of the Board of Advisors. Juan brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the fields of cybersecurity, telecommunications, Investment and business leadership.
Juan Villalonga currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Green Hills Software, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions. He also holds positions as a Board member of the SPAC, Global Technology Acquisition Corporation, and as a member of the Advisory Board of Lutetia Capital and Viasat.
With a career spanning over four decades, Juan began his journey in 1978 at JPMorgan in New York and Madrid. He later became a partner at McKinsey and Company, where he served in various capacities, including the Advisory Council of McKinsey New Ventures.
Notably, Juan is recognized for his tenure as the former Executive Chairman and CEO of Telefónica Group, where he successfully grew the company’s market capitalization from $12 billion to over $100 billion. In 2010, the Harvard Business Review ranked Juan as number 33 on the list of the top 100 performing CEOs in the world.
Prior to his role at Telefónica, Juan held senior positions at Credit Suisse First Boston and Bankers Trust, overseeing their operations in Spain. He has also served on the Board of Directors of prominent telecommunications operators such as Megaphone (2006-2008), Axiata (2008-2016), and Etisalat (2018-2021). Additionally, Juan has contributed his expertise as a Board member at the Trade Desk.
Juan holds an MBA from IESE Barcelona and an LLB from the University of Deusto, further solidifying his strong educational background. His strategic insights and extensive industry knowledge will undoubtedly strengthen DESTEN Inc.’s Board of Directors and Advisory Board.
